British Touring Car
Championship - Donington Park July 2007 |
 |
This year's Donington Park Round of the British Touring
Car Championship was as action packed as the previous round at Oulton Park
2 week earlier, Saturday was fine on the whole, but Sunday, torrential
rain all day, the main difference from the previous round being the lack
of accidents, apart from the Seat Leon's of coarse, The Renault Clio's
behaved themselves, as did the Formula Renaults. In the British Touring
car races Vauxhall seemed to be in trouble the most with engine problems,
indeed the mechanics worked into the early evening on Giovanardi's Vectra
changing the engine after overheating problems. |

Jason Plato, The Rain Master
in his Seat dominated the Sunday racing, winning two out of the three
races, Gordon Shedden won race one, but a on form Plato took the Seat by
the scruff of the neck and drove a superb second and third race, Plato
turning a small deficit in the championship into a healthy lead while
other drivers struggled in the rain.
Fiona Leggate kept the Kart world mechanic's busy
throughout the weekend with a off into the tyres at the right -left
chicane and again as she entered the old hairpin this time causing serious
panel damage to the front, the car needing several new part, however when
she was in the groove she could be seen to be mixing it with the rest in
admirable style, |
